AKH-TRACADA congratulates Marwa on reappointment as NDLEA Chair

The Executive and members of the Anti-Kidnapping, Human Trafficking, Child Abuse and Drug Abuse Initiative (AKH-TRACADA) has congratulated the Chairman of National Drug Law and Enforcement Agency (NDLEA), Gen. Buba Marwa (Rtd) on his reappointment as NDLEA Chairman for another Five-Year-Term.

In a congratulatory letter sent to the NDLEA Chairman in Abuja Monday, National Coordinator of AKH-TRACADA, Primate Belonwu Ezeanyaeche while describing Gen. Marwa as a quintessential fine officer, noted that his diligence, thoroughness, commitment and positive results achieved within the last five years in the anti-drug war must have endeared him to Mr. President.

Continuing, Ezeanyaeche stressed that Marwa has demonstrated doggedness, audacity, focus, hard work, innovation and acuity, among other sterling qualities which have been the driving forces behind his resounding success in narcotic fight.

He noted that it was imperative to know that Gen. Marwa was one of the few persons that won the hearts of two Nigerian leaders in the person of Late Muhammadu Buhari and Bola Ahmed Tinubu while the former appointed him, the later renewed the appointment owing to his dexterity and astuteness.

According to Ezeanyaeche, “You boosted the morale of the NDLEA personnel with encouraging incentives and good working condition. Training and retraining of officers and men of the agency were also intensified to up their ante and expose them in relevant, diverse and better tactic to enable them meet up with new challenges.

“You are a true definition of success, paying attention to details, making funds spent on areas of priorities, instill discipline on operatives, punish the guilty, and rewards good conduct.

“The agency’s successful arrest of thousands of drug offenders and barons, prosecution and conviction of some of them and seizure of tonnes of illicit substance within a short period of your tenure shows your determination to stamp out organised criminal activities, particularly in the realm of illicit drug trafficking.

“More importantly are your strategic reforms in the agency which have attracted credible partners for collaboration that have further boosted the capability of the anti-narcotics agency in tackling the menace of substance abuse and illicit drug trafficking.

“Sir there is no doubt that you have brought anti-drug abuse fight to the consciousness of Nigerians through your strategic public engagement, this however stands you out as the best man for the job.

“We are convinced that you can do more this time around given your zeal, patriotism, steadfastness and commitment towards the greater good of Nigerians and entire humanity” the letter concluded.

Ezeanyaeche however, urged the Chairman to see his reappointment as a call not to rest on his oars, but to continue to be innovative, pragmatic and forward moving.
