Late Sen. Fidelis Okoro
The family of the Late Senator Fidelis Chukwuemeka Okoro has formally announced the passing unto glory of the Three-Term-Senator that represented Enugu North Senatorial District of Enugu State in the ill-fated third republic, first Senate and second Senate.
In a press statement released in Enugu Wednesday by his son, Bar. Fidelis Ifeanyi Okoro jnr, titled: “Good Night, Good Man” it noted that the deceased senator whom he described as good family man died after a brief illness in Abuja.
Bar. Okoro who is a Senior Special Assistant to the Executive Governor of Enugu State said his father worked tirelessly for his people as a three-Term-Senator that represented the good people of Enugu North Senatorial District.
While describing his late father as a rare gem that will be missed by many, he solicited for prayers for the family in their trying time.
He also commended well wishers who had reached the family through different platforms to share in their grief, saying they have shown their support which was most needed at this material time.
Bar. Okoro informed that as they consult with relevant stakeholders towards giving him a befitting burial which he deserves, they also take consolation in the fact that he lived a good life deserving of company of angels in heaven.
His words, “It is with heavy heart that I formally announce the passing unto glory of my father, Senator Fidelis Chukwuemeka Okoro whose sad event occurred on Sunday, 17 May 2020 in Abuja after a brief illness.
“We have lost a rare gem who was a good family man. Though we knew that this day would come, nothing can diminish our sense of a profound and enduring loss.
“His tireless struggle for our people as a 3-term-senator of Enugu North Senatorial District has earned him the admiration of many.
“At this material time, all we need is your prayers for the family and we owe a debt of gratitude to those who have reached us through different platforms.
“As a family, Senator Okoro brought us together, and it is together that we will bid him farewell. There is no doubt that this is indeed the moment of our deepest sorrow. Yet it must also be the moment of our greatest determination.
As we consult with relevant stakeholders towards giving him a befitting burial which he deserves, we also take consolation in the fact that he lived a good life deserving of company of angels in heaven.
